The schools are out, the sun is hot, Fourth of July is just around the corner–summer is in full force! There are few things more relaxing in life than a warm sunny day with nothing to do, but in order to get the most out of your relaxation, be sure to stay healthy, hydrated, and protected. Below are more tips to help you relax comfortably this summer!
1) It’s important to keep your skin moisturized and protected. In addition to sunscreen, check out Bath & Body Works for great deals on moisturizers, lotions, and creams in such delectable summer scents as Juniper Breeze and Caribbean Escape. This rich, tropical Aruba coconut body lotion is only $5.50!
2) Protect your eyes! If you have light eyes, like I do, then you know all too well the importance of a good pair of shades. Besides looking cool, sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful UV rays and make reading in the sun a lot more comfortable! Liven up your summer style with these bold Steve Madden print cat eye sunglasses from Nordstrom.
3) Lastly, when outside, be sure to spend ample time in the shade. Make sure your garden has a shady area, and that you set up kid’s play areas in an area out of direct sunlight. This two-tier gazebo on sale from Sears is the perfect relief from a hot summer’s day! And with a privacy and insect screen, you can enjoy all the pleasures of sitting outside on a warm summer’s afternoon, with none of the discomfort.
Happy summer my friends! To end, I will leave you with these words from poet Emily Dickinson, celebrating the beauty of those warm summer nights that are gone before we have processed their arrival.
“To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie—
True Poems flee—“
